Now there's pages and pages of posts!
We have worked very hard on updating our blog today. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to check out the older posts, because, well, they're not so old. We think it's best to work your way up since the newest posts are at the top. If you want to get updated in the order in which the events occurred you should go through the pages to the last post you read and read up from there. There are a total of four pages to our blog at this point. Hope you like what we've got!
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Bozeman (24th, 25th, 26th)
The initial fuel behind our cross country trip was my friend Brittany's wedding in Montana. After discovering how expensive flights were from North Carolina to Montana, a light bulb went off in my head about the possibility of creating a cross country road trip with the wedding as a prime destination. As soon as I solidified this idea in my own head, I called Jenn to see if she wanted to join me as a traveling companion since we are both teachers and have the summers off. So here we are, finally in Montana, for Brittany and Donny's wedding.
Here is the beautiful bride with her wonderful parents!

Exchanging vows...

Finally married! How exciting!!

At the reception, lots of eating, conversing, drinking, and dancing ensued as friends and family celebrated Brittany and Donny's future life together.
I haven't seen Kristal in so long, but it's been a blast getting to hang out!

Jenn took this lovely picture of Brittany and me. I am so happy I got to be here for the wedding!

My little camera was quickly dying as I tried to take some pictures of Brittany and Donny cutting the cake. They were having a blast with it, and I'm sad that my camera went kaput before I captured Brittany and Donny smashing cake on each other's faces!

Jenn and I (along with most of the other young people) boogied all night long to the country-western band. It was a fantastic and fun wedding!

Thursday's Quick Tour of Seattle and Drive to Bozeman
I wanted to see Seattle on our road trip because I've heard it's such a great town, and I've never been. Jenn and I did not have much time to explore because of our tight schedule. We spent a few hours walking around the city, mostly in Pike's Place Market, before getting back on the road to Bozeman, MT.
It was a gray day in Seattle, as you can see below. This first shot should be a familiar landmark to most people.

The city of Seattle...

Art work on the sidewalk. What an interesting addition!

Jenn and I were both awestruck at the beautiful display of flowers in Pike's Place Market!

Too bad we didn't have room for any of these in the Mazda!

Another shot of the city...

As we explored Pike's Place Market, we happened upon this two-person band--singing, tap dancing, and playing their guitars. I stopped to watch for quite some time as we were waiting for the guys on the opposite side to throw some fish (which we never actually witnessed, sadly).

Jenn pinching this substantial doughnut. Anybody want a bite? I believe it is potentially as big as a dinner plate!

We couldn't leave Pike's Place Market without a picture of the fish.

Before heading back to our Bed and Breakfast and grudgingly getting back into the car, we bought some goodies for the road. For lunch and dinner, we ate some homemade cheese from this shop. Here they are making it!

Here is our delicious cheese before we devoured it.

On the road again...

Washington + Idaho + Montana = Three days of relaxation. Thank goodness!

Wednesday's Trip from San Francisco to Seattle (22nd)
Our day began with a nice surprise, my dad stopped by to say hello! An old native of San Fran himself, it was great that we could share a few moments in this great town together (even if it was oh so brief).

We stayed in the cutest motel with a courtyard. Our room even had a kitchen! If anyone is going to San Francisco and looking for a great place to stay, definitely look into the Marina Motel!

My dad recommended that we go to Golden Gate Park before we headed out of San Francisco that day.

We got to see the outside of the Japanese Tea Garden, but unfortunately, it wasn't going to open until later in the morning. Dad said it's beautiful so hopefully we'll get to see it on our next venture to San Fran.

Some flowers outside of the Tea Garden...

More snow covered mountains...

We stopped in Portland for a quick visit and dinner. We saw some great street performers as we were entering and exiting the city...

...and took a few shots of the downtown before heading on our way.

After a long day and a plethora of driving, we crashed in The Hill House Bed and Breakfast in Seattle. It would have been a great place to stay had our window not been located on the street side where loud buses and cars were traveling by all night long. Jenn slept much more soundly than I did, so it was a good thing she was on driving duty the next day!

Tuesday's Trip to Muir Woods, Point Reyes and a Ferry Ride! (21st)
We had heard from several people that Muir Woods National Monument was a great place to check out when in San Francisco, so we made sure to include it in our schedule. It is a truly wonderful place to visit.

The trees are so enormous and tall that it was hard for me to get a good shot that truly shows how grandiose and majestic they are.

Feeling a wee bit like Alice in Wonderland...

Four-leaf clovers anyone?

Our next stop was Point Reyes which we heard was fantastic. The drive along California Highway 1 was as curvy as we expected, although a much shorter drive than our previous trips. The drive there was really beautiful as you can see below.

Now you may notice that the weather is changing. Once we drove onto the Point Reyes property it became extremely foggy and cold!! I have to say we may not have been able to see it in all its splendor, but we were both happy we checked it out.

If you happen to click on this picture below and make it bigger, you will see how wildly Jenn's hair is blowing as a result of the intensity of the wind.

The lighthouse was actually "closed" on the day we went so we had to look at it from afar.

We've gotten in some sort of "sunglasses-on-while-taking-pictures" rut. We are just now realizing it looks a little silly in this photo.

Trying out poses under the tree.

I'm trying out the side plank tree pose under the tree. (I believe there is never a time when yoga is not appropriate on the trip because yoga is awesome.)

We ended up eating lunch at the Inverness Store because all the restaurants in town (all 2) close on the days the lighthouse closes.

Mom Grafton recommended that we ride the ferry. It felt a little sentimental for me (Jennifer) because the ferry route from Sausalito to San Francisco was the same route she took to work when she lived there. How special! The photos below are from the ferry.

Creepy fog creeping in.

My homage to ice cream in poem form as well as monument form.
You may not be able to read it but this poem is engraved on my Moleskine Tablet.
Give me your hot fudge, your sprinkles,
Your huddled masses of Oreos, yearning to break free,
The tasty morsels from your teeming bins.
Send these, the toppings, the candy to me,
I lift my cone to your soft serve swirl.

The trees are so enormous and tall that it was hard for me to get a good shot that truly shows how grandiose and majestic they are.
