Friday's Drive to San Diego (17th)

As we started our drive toward San Diego we felt rested and excited for the rest of our trip and ready to get out of the Phoenix heat! The drive wasn't too exciting, but the thought of getting a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean at the end of the drive was motivation enough. We did spice up our drive by listening to lots of great music, thanks to Lindsey raiding her brother's iTunes library. Lindsey kept herself busy by taking some unconventional photos while I drove.

The Mazda's reflection in a milk (?) truck.

This is what I had imagined Arizona to look like!

Lindsey's just killing time with her camera and giving lots of people interesting impressions of North Carolinians.

Upon entering California we were guided through a checkpoint for fruit flies. Lindsey covered our fruit with a blanket. Whew!

While the day's maximum temperature was 123 degrees, we didn't get a photo. This really is a photo of the temperature gauge in the Mazda.

Aaaah, grass and trees!!! This is more like the California I was hoping for!

This reminded me a little of West Virginia and the mailboxes at the end of the Muddy Creek driveways.
