Sunday's Journey from L.A. to San Francisco on Pacific Coast Highway 1 (19th)

Many people recommended that we take Pacific Coast Highway 1 up the coast of California. Jenn and I thought that was a SPLENDID idea! What a magnificent way to bask in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. So, as we jetted out of L.A. and the monstrous traffic, we began our journey on Highway 1 to San Fransisco. As you can see from the photo below, the beginning of the drive was foggy, which made it hard to see any sort of "beauty" or even much of the ocean for that matter.

Where is the Pacific Ocean? Under all that mist and fog.

We had quite the shock when we got out of the car to take pictures, and it was SO COLD. We not only put on extra layers of clothes, but also felt the need to wrap a fleece blanket around ourselves as we posed for this self-timer shot. I believe that my abilities at self-timer are improving!

Ahh, we finally got to see the Pacific Ocean as the fog lifted and dissipated. I tried to take as many pictures as I could of the breath-taking scenery. However, I was very car sick for most of the drive because the roads were so windy. If you want to take the Pacific Coast Highway, make sure you drive if you get car sick. :)

By the end of the day, I was so unbelievably glad to get out of the car! And even though Jenn and I were planning to take Highway 1 for more of the trip, we decided that our car sick tendencies would prohibit either of us from fully enjoying the coast drive again.
